But you can hold out a little hope for this because Capcom has not given any official statements regarding it. If thats the case, then the save files are probably not compatible with Steam/GOG versions of the game anymore. Code Vein is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, so you would hope that players across all three platforms would be able to play together - especially as, unlike shooters, there are no obvious benefits to one platform over the other. So, it is hard to indicate if the game will have a crossplay feature in the future. Let us know if you had any success. It might be due to adding cross-platform compatibility and Cloud saves with the XBox version in this patch. Note: I haven't tested this myself, so please do save backups before doing anything. The container.1 or user1 can be container.1-4 or user1-4 depending on the save slot used in the game.
They suggested copying and renaming the "container.1" file (with a bunch of random characters) to user1.dat file (which the Steam/GOG version uses) and the game should recognize it after copying it to the Steam/GOG save location. According to them, the PC Gamepass / Microsoft Store version uses the same save format, the files are only named differently. The Steam version of SWTOR has full crossplay and cross-save with the direct SWTOR launcher, so all progress will carry over when player’s log in via either method. Update:Somebody on reddit just let me know, that it may be possible to transfer a save file from one version to another.
